Two hundred shillings a year. Open to any Kenyan citizen aged eighteen or above with a national ID, at home or in the diaspora.
The Registrar's service works on any phone, with no internet.
Register by phone
Three steps on *509#
Get your ORPP PIN
Dial *509#, enter your ID number and first name. The Registrar sends your PIN by SMS. Skip this if you already have one.
Leave your old party
Dial *509#, enter your PIN, choose Membership, then resign. Only needed if you belong to another party.
Join PPK
Dial *509#, enter your PIN, choose Membership, then Join a party. Type PPK, enter the party code and confirm.
*509# is the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties service. Standard network rates apply.
Who can join
Four conditions
Membership is open irrespective of colour, creed, gender or race.
Article 5.1, party constitution
- You are a Kenyan citizen aged eighteen or above.
- You hold a national identification document.
- You are prepared to abide by the party constitution and the rules made under it.
- You subscribe to the party code of conduct and the pledge of commitment.
What it costs
Five tiers, one vote
Every member has the same rights. The higher tiers are contributions, and two of them are conditions for holding particular offices.

| Life | 100,000 | Paid once. Required of anyone appointed a party Trustee. |
- Special interest groups may pay a reduced fee, or none at all, on the approval of the National Executive Committee.
- Fees are set by the National Executive Committee and may change.
- To stand on the party list you must have been a paid-up member for more than three years. To sit on the National Elections Board, five continuous years.
- No official is authorised to collect fees outside the channels published on this website.

Rights and duties
Set out in Articles 5.5 and 5.6.
You are entitled to
- Take part in every party activity and meeting.
- Take part in shaping, debating and implementing party policy.
- Inspect the constitution, the register, the manifesto and the audited accounts on written request.
- Stand for party office at any level, and apply for nomination to any elective seat.
You agree to
- Uphold the aims, policies and programmes of the party.
- Observe discipline and the party code of conduct.
- Register as a voter and take part in electoral processes.
- Do not promote the policies or interests of another party.
- Pay the prescribed fees and support the party when called upon for a good cause.

Article 5.7, party constitution
- You may resign at any time, by letter to the Secretary General or through the USSD code.
- Resignation is voluntary and irreversible, and fees already paid are not refunded.
- Registering with another party, or campaigning for one, counts as resigning from PPK automatically.
- Your details are held in the membership register and kept up to date continuously.
