The Peoples Party of Kenya (PPK) recognizes that Kenya’s youth
are its greatest asset—full of energy, creativity, and potential. We are
committed to empowering young people with the skills, opportunities, and
support systems they need to become leaders, innovators, and drivers of
sustainable development. Our youth policy focuses on inclusion, capacity
building, economic empowerment, and social awareness.
1. Youth-Centric Policies
and Representation
PPK will develop and advocate for progressive policies that
prioritize the youth agenda across all sectors. This includes ensuring
youth participation in governance, policy-making, and national programs, as
well as setting up youth desks at all government and party levels to address
their unique concerns.
2. Leadership and Skills
Training
To equip youth for both civic and economic leadership, PPK will:
- Establish
youth leadership training centres in each county.
- Promote
mentorship programs in collaboration with professionals and industry
leaders.
- Support
youth in specialized fields such as technology, agriculture, arts, and
entrepreneurship.
3. Access to Affordable
Credit and Economic Empowerment
Recognizing that lack of capital is a major barrier for youth
enterprise, PPK will:
- Facilitate
access to affordable loans and financial services tailored to young
people.
- Partner
with public and private institutions to provide financial literacy and
business development support.
- Create
a national youth fund for start-ups and innovation.
4. Employment Creation and
Beneficial Engagement
PPK will work to reduce youth unemployment by:
- Encouraging
youth participation in national infrastructure and community service
projects.
- Supporting
digital economy jobs, the creative industry, and green economy
initiatives.
- Promoting
youth quotas in public tenders and government employment programs.
5. Awareness Forums on
Values, Health, and Social Well-being
Youth development goes beyond jobs—it includes building responsible
and informed citizens. PPK will:
- Organize
forums and workshops focused on family values, reproductive health,
HIV/AIDS awareness, and substance abuse prevention.
- Collaborate
with faith-based organizations, schools, and community leaders in
value-driven youth outreach programs.
