The Peoples Party of Kenya (PPK) affirms that every person living
with HIV/AIDS deserves access to quality care, protection from stigma,
and the right to live a dignified life. We are committed to leading a comprehensive,
rights-based approach to HIV/AIDS response that addresses prevention,
treatment, social protection, and long-term resilience.
1. National HIV/AIDS Policy
for Treatment and Advocacy
PPK will design and support a progressive national policy focused
on:
- Universal
access to antiretroviral treatment (ART) and community-based
care.
- Strengthening
healthcare systems to support ongoing treatment, testing, and counseling
services.
- Raising
public awareness and supporting behavior change through
education, outreach, and destigmatization campaigns.
2. Legislative Protection
for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs)
Recognizing the broader impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic on families, PPK
will:
- Propose
and advocate legislation that protects orphans
and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS.
- Ensure
these children are guaranteed access to education, healthcare,
psychosocial support, and safe shelter.
- Partner
with community organizations, schools, and local governments to create
child-focused support systems.
