The Peoples Party of Kenya (PPK) believes that security is the
foundation of freedom, prosperity, and democracy. Every Kenyan deserves to
live, work, and move about their community without fear. We are committed to enhancing
public safety through community-driven policing, professionalized security
forces, and partnerships that strengthen national unity and trust in law
enforcement.
1. Community Policing for
Safer Neighborhoods
PPK will develop and institutionalize a comprehensive community
policing system that encourages collaboration between residents and
security agencies. This will include:
- Establishing
neighborhood safety committees across all counties.
- Empowering
local communities to report suspicious activities, resolve minor disputes,
and support law enforcement efforts.
- Promoting
public awareness on crime prevention and civic responsibility.
2. Security Awareness and
Training
To support effective policing, we will:
- Create
educational campaigns using proven
community policing models to build public trust and cooperation.
- Integrate
civic education on security roles and rights into public programs,
schools, and community centers.
3. Proper Utilization and
Oversight of Security Forces
PPK will advocate for a more accountable and community-focused
deployment of security forces, ensuring that:
- Personnel
are deployed equitably, especially in regions prone to conflict or
under-served by current systems.
- Law
enforcement officers are held to high standards of professionalism, human
rights, and ethical conduct.
4. Capacity Building and
Modernization
A strong, fair, and effective security force must be well-trained and
well-equipped. PPK will:
- Lobby
for continuous training, professional development,
and psychological support for police and security personnel.
- Support
the acquisition of modern tools, communication systems, and protective
equipment to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Promote
inter-agency coordination to address organized crime, terrorism,
cybercrime, and cross-border threats.
